After making romantic comedy entertainer movies like Dhee, Ready, Namo Venkatesha now director Sreenu Vytla came with high volatage action drama with Prince Mahesh Babu in lead role which created more high hopes on this movie, Achanta Gopinath, Achanta Ramu and Anil Sunkara who are earlier produced Namo Venkatesha with high technical standards producing this movie and also Mahesh Babu's brother G.Ramesh Babu prensenting this movie and For the first time Music director Thaman S joined with Sreenu Vytla for Dookudu movie.
Story:
Story starts in 90′s where Shankar Narayana(Prakash Raj) is a kind of man who lives for people. He always to do good for people and he wants his son Ajay(Mahesh Babu) to follow his footsteps too. One day Kota Srinivas Rao who was being threatened by Prakash Raj to stop his illegal activities has murdered Prakash Raj and Satyam(Rajeev Kanakala) his brother with the help of some of Shankar Narayana team members. The story moves to today. Mumbai is threatened by Nayak(Sonu Sood) who is most wanted criminal and Don. Suman who is commissioner has been assigned to catch Nayak but he fails to catch him. Then comes the introduction Ajay, who becomes Police Officer and he will be assigned to Nayak. He catch one of his main team member but Nayak kills him in the jail and the Ajay and his team are suspended.
But Ajay and his team will decide to catch Nayak’s brother who he thinks will be helpful to catch Nayak. He will get information that his brother will go to Turkey, Istanbul to meet his girlfriend. SO they go to Turkey to catch him. There he see’s Prashanthi(Samantha) and will fall in love with her. He will mistake her as Nayak’s brother girlfriend and will start a fight with her and will be mean with her. But later he finds out that she is not the one they are searching for and then again he follows her to gain her love. Prashanthi is fashion technology student who comes to Turkey to participate in a fashion competition but will tell her father Nazar who is Ajay senior officer that she is going to Delhi for writing IAS exams. In this process Ajay and his team will find Nayak’s brother and Ajay kills him and Nayak will come to India to avenge his brother’s death.
Here comes the twist, Shankar Narayana will be in hospital alive but will be in coma all these years and he doesn’t know anything about what happened. He still thinks that his son is a politician and all his team members are safe and his brother Satyam is alive too. Then Ajay with the help of Padmasri (Bramhanandam) who is greedy for money will make a drama to make his father believe everything he thinks was right. The rest of the story is about how he makes his father believe? How he will take revenge of his father’s killers?
Performances:
Mahesh Babu is the first name we should be talking when comes to performance. He has rocked the show and he has repeated the magic of Khaleja once again with his timings and one liners in the movie. His looks are dashing and his comic timing is awesome. Costumes are really good. He performed really well in the scenes with Samantha and Prakash Raj.
Samantha didn’t have a very big role but she has excelled in what she have. Her looks will make all the boys go gaga over her. She is really stunning in the songs. Chinmayee who gave her dubbing in Ye Maya Chesav also gave dubbing in this movie too. He dancing skills are really good. She has performed her magic again in the movie.
Prakash Raj has given an superb performance as father of Mahesh Babu. He was really carried away by the character and all I can say is that he has done 200% justice to this character. Sonu Sood who has given a extrordinary performance in Kandireega has done the same amount of justice in this movie too. He will be seen listening to old ANR, NTR songs and listening to Bhagawadgeetha in the movie which is very hilarious.
Bramhanandam played the role of Padmasri who is greedy and he has rocked the show again. He performance in the scenes in which he thinks everything that’s happening around him is a reality TV show is really hilarious.
Vennela Kishore as Sastri has given a really good performance. He might be our next Sunil in the industry. He really have a good future and will surely give many more great performances in the coming years.
M.S.Narayana has given another Solomon Raj like performance. His spoofs as Ntr in Yamadonga, Ram Charan in Magadheera and Balakrishna in Simha is really extrordinary. He nailed it. He is the highlight for the second half of the movie. Dharmavarapu Subramaniyam has a small role but he has done a great job in that span of time.
Tanikella Bharani, Nazar and Chadramohan have given great performances in what they have and have to be appreciated.
Parvati Melton has done the item number “Poovai Poovai” in this movie. Looks like she is working out a lot and has became thin. Her looks are great in the song. The movements in the songs are good. But she kinda lacked the item girl effect. But she has done a good job in the song.
Srinu Vytla has done an excellent job. Even though he opted the old routine story , he has shown the difference in making as he did in his earlier movies. Without much violence and with excellent comedy, he lived upto the promise he made to Mahesh fans. His comedy timings in the movie is really awesome. Sentiment part is good in the movie but he has made it little lengthy. Even though he dragged a little in the second part he had made it up with the comedy track and you will really laugh out your lungs.
S.S.Thaman has done an extrordinary job with the music in this movie. He has given some really great tunes for the movie and Srinu Vytla has done a brilliant job by picturizing the songs more beautifully. The camera work in the movie is awesome. He has done really awesome work in the songs and fights. Kona Venkat has done an extrorodinary job with the dialogues. Comedy lines and the punchlines in the movie for Mahesh are really great.
Techinical Department: K V Guhan who did already worked in Mahesh's movies like ‘Naani’ and ‘Athadu’ is handling Cinematography and Dialogues by Kona Venkat is good, Thaman's background music is okay and Four songs would be highlight on the screen and the action part will be loved by the masses. Thier is special attraction of the film is an item song by Parvathy Melton but its not so impact on film as choreography is average.
Analysis : Watch Dookudu with out any comparison with Pokiri movie and its full action drama based entertainer movie it has having all the elements action, romance, comedy and sentiment in this movie. Mahesh Babu will steals the show with his various dialogues accent in this movie. As Dussara hoildays preponed movie can get good collections
